Das Tool ist sowohl für Bachelor- wie Masterstudierende der Fakultät Agrarwissenschaften gedacht und soll dabei unterstützen, strukturierte Grundlagen für akademisches Schreiben und Arbeiten zu vermitteln bzw. im Selbstlernkurz zu erarbeiten.

Do you want to shape the future of food while collaborating with a team of students from universities across Europe?

The agri-food sector is complex, with many interconnected parts, such as farming, processing, distribution, and consumption. A system analysis approach is essential to understand these connections and address challenges like resource inefficiency, environmental impact, food insecurity and social well-being. lt helps identify how different components influence each other, such as how farming practices affect soil health or how consumer demand shapes supply chains. By looking at the bigger picture, system analysis enables better decision-making, promotes sustainability, and ensures the sector can adapt to changes like climate shifts or market demands. This approach is crucial for creating efficient, resilient, and fair food systems.

AgriFood Systems Hack
In the AgriFood Systems Hack, you'II tackle a reallife challenge alongside a team of students from universities across Europe. Using a system analysis approach, you'II dive deep into the problem, analyze it, and propose innovative solutions to a real case owner. Your idea can spark a positive change and make the world just a little better!

What makes this Hackathon truly special is its unique format, blending the excitement of a student competition with the enriching experience of a summer school. Not only will you collaborate on an engaging case with international peers, but you'II also gain valuable knowledge and hands-on practice with the system analysis approach. lt's a perfect mix of learning, teamwork, and making an impact!

How does it work?
The Hackathon follows a blended format. The first part takes place online. The second part takes place in person in Wageningen, the Netherlands. Over five exciting days (7-11 July), you and your team will develop and refine your solution with guidance from experts and input from local stakeholders.

Who can participate?
Bachelor's and Master's students from universities across Europe are encouraged to take part. Participants from a wide range of disciplines-including agriculture, food science, environmental science, engineering, business, public health, computer science, social sciences, and design-are invited to bring interdisciplinary solutions to food system challenges.
