RobustGemüse – Resilience in Organic Vegetable Farming – Development and Testing of Strategies and Innovations Through Applied Research

Project start date

Project end date

Project Objective

The objective of the project is to strengthen resilience in organic vegetable farming. The focus is on practical solutions: research questions are developed jointly by practitioners, consultants and researchers and are tested on vegetable farms, with the goal of making organic vegetable farming more resilient and adaptable in the long term – ecologically, economically, and organizationally. Approaches are tested and further developed based on farm-specific trials, as well as through applied research networks that collaboratively address specific challenges related to individual crops or in particular regions. In addition, trials are conducted on cultivation methods involving mulch and cover crops, as well as on preventive plant protection measures. The Center for Organic Farming focuses on the cultivation of new crops and the evaluation of cultivation methods such as strip till and legume undersowing.
