Network meeting for researchers interested in the fields of microbial biotechnology and organic farming

On 18 and 19 March 2026, a network meeting for researchers interested in the fields of microbial biotechnology and organic farming will take place at the University of Hohenheim.

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts is currently funding two funding lines, ‘Microorganisms as helpers in climate protection – using innovative methods to harness microbial processes for a climate-neutral future’ and ‘Organic farming for climate protection and biodiversity,’ as part of the joint funding programme ‘New Research Ideas for the Climate.’ The aim of the event is to promote professional exchange within the funding lines and between the subject areas in general, to stimulate new collaborations and to develop ideas for future research projects.

Accordingly, the event is open to all interested parties and researchers in the fields of climate protection, microbial biotechnologies and organic farming. Interested young researchers from related subject areas are also expressly invited and addressed.

As part of this network meeting, the projects currently funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts under the two funding lines mentioned above will be presented. In addition to the project presentations, there will be a keynote speech to provide inspiration beyond the topics covered by the funding programme, as well as two specialist presentations that will explore the topics of the two funding lines in greater depth. Minister of Science Petra Olschowski will open the event. There will be several opportunities for informal exchange.

The detailed programme, the link to register and information on accommodation options can be found here.

The languages used at the event will be German and English – the presentations should be held in English.
